Western Michigan Coach: “We Couldn’t Get Off Our Blocks”

In the wake of Iowa’s 59-3 beatdown of Western Michigan on Saturday, the Bronco’s head coach PJ Fleck said in his post game news conference that one of the difficulties his team had was his defensive linemen getting off their blocks to make tackles.  In reviewing some of my photos from the game action, I ran across this series in particular that backs up Fleck’s statement.  In this running play featuring Jordan Canzeri (33) in the 4th quarter, check out how long Hawkeye OL Nolan MacMillan (76) stays on his guy, WMU DL Desmond Bozeman (10).  The first shot, you’ll notice MacMillan at the far right of the shot, locked on Bozeman during the entire duration of this sequence.
