It’s Cyclone Week, but you already knew that. Tomorrow at 5 pm CT, the Hawkeyes can begin to erase that nasty taste that lingers from last year after the Vandenberg-to-Knott interception that snuffed out any hope Iowa had to reach the end zone and put away the Cyclones. The good news is Jake Knott doesn’t have any remaining eligibility and neither does AJ Klein, two players Iowa State will find impossible to replace any time soon.
Last year’s Iowa-ISU game at Kinnick was completely frustrating in every sense of the word. Iowa could not find the end zone and that became something we would have to endure all season long. Iowa had numerous chances, but too many dropped passes killed any momentum Iowa could muster. And then there is that cheer the ISU fans do while being led by the too-long-of-a-name-ISU-Marching-Cyclone-Varsity-Band. You know the tune: that ru-ray-ru-reee “Go! CYCLONES!” Good grief.
Here are 4 shots I took from last year’s game that were momentous. The scenes of each one of these needs to be reversed for the Hawkeyes to win on Saturday. Go Hawks!
