Well, that was fun. Let’s see: A pleasant Spring day in Iowa CIty? Check. A chance to get to see some new Hawkeye coaches? Check. Anxious to see some new options at quarterback? Check. Thousands of fans inside Kinnick Stadium hoping to see some significant signs of improvement over last years edition of Hawkeye Football. I’d say check that, too. The offense was, dare I say, crisp? It was. There was good pace. There were passes thrown downfield – and caught. There was at least one flea flicker attempted. There were very vocal and animated coaches coaching. And, from what I could tell, the players seemed to be adjusting to that new lifestyle.
I really don’t have a lot to write up today because I’m up way too early this morning driving to play golf in the Ozarks for the next 3 days. Here are some shots I took of the action. Perhaps I can add in some details and more color later. If you’re wondering about the QB situation, it is indeed a situation. I think they all showed they’re capable of playing. They seem young and small, but talented.
