Iowa’s Excellent Tight End Tradition Shall Continue

Recently, ESPN.com B1G blogger, Brian Bennett posted a list of players he felt had a “breakout Spring”.  Included in his post was the next great Iowa Hawkeye Tight End, C.J. Fiedorowicz.  As Hawkeye fans, if you’ve read anything about new OC Greg Davis, you’ve read how he’s raving about the chance to coach a player like CJ.  Davis has even gone on as far as to say he has never coached a player at his position with the size and ability as CJ possesses.  Matchup problem?  Gosh, I don’t know – he’s just a mere 6′-7″ and just shy of 270 lbs.  But we’re used to seeing stellar TE play on countless Saturdays in Kinnick.  Marv Cook.  Scott Chandler.  Dallas Clark. Tony Moeaki.  Those are Hawkeyes legends at tight end, just to name a few.  CJ will be just a junior in 2012.  Let’s hope he can pick up where he left off in the back half of 2011 and forge his way into Hawkeye legend!

Have I said before how much I want to be standing by that pilon capturing these shots? Well, I managed to capture this shot of C.J. Fiedorowicz stretching out horizontally across the goal line against Michigan State in 2011 putting up 6 for the good guys.
