Marcus Coker: No. 21 player on ESPN 2011 Postseason Top 25

I know I’m a little late to the party, but I’ve been busy with the day job seeping over into my evenings.  I’m a fairly routine follower of the ESPN Big 10 College Football Blog written by Adam Rittenberg and Brian Bennett.  In it, they have been counting down the top 25 players from the 2011 season.  Coming in at No. 21 was Marcus Coker, RB.  We will miss this guy.

Here is Marcus Coker chatting it up with Marvin McNutt on the sidelines late in the 4th Quarter of the Indiana game. Marcus had 139 yards and 2 touchdowns on this day.

Marcus was a human highlight film for the latter half of the season.  He got off to a slow start in 2011 and seemed timid and lacked the aggressiveness and hard nosed running style that we saw in the 2010 Insight Bowl.  I took tons of photos of Marcus in 2011.  Here are some favorites.  Go ahead, click on ’em…

Here is Marcus moments after a touchdown run against Northwestern in 2011. Marcus had 124 yards and 2 touchdowns rushing in this game.

Here Marcus finds the gaping hole and heads toward the end zone. A split second later and Kinnick erupts as the fans know its going to be 3 wins in a row for the Hawkeyes against that school outside Detroit.

A decent shot of Marcus hitting the gap and picking up some good yardage in the game against Michigan in 2011.

Here's Marcus barreling through to the end zone for a touchdown against Indiana in 2011.
